Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn, an American actress who has worked in film and television in theatre as well as film and television. Since the age of 27 she has been an active professional thespian. She first made an appearance on stage with an off Broadway production called The Big Funk by John Patrick Shanley in 1990. A year later she was cast in her first role on TV in The Perfect Tribute. In 1992, she was cast as a back-up character in the film Basic Instinct the film, her career started to take off. It was in the movie The Firm however that she was cast as the woman leading the film for just the very first time. She was cast in the film alongside famous actors such as Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the late 1990s she teamed up with many famous actors from the industry, such as Gwyneth Palow on Sliding Door Hugh Grant Mickey Blue Eyes Julie Andrews Relative Values. She recently played Dr. Alex Blake in the internationally popular police procedural crime drama Criminal Minds.
